2026 Classes and Teachers

DAILY CLASS CHOICES

You will be asked to rank your top ten choices from these selections, with number 1 being your highest preference. Please choose ten different classes. We will do our best to give you your top six choices on your schedule. You will have these classes every day at the same time.

Beth Erickson – The Life of Paul – What a life transformation! Paul is a man who went from hunting down Christians to boldly spreading the gospel across the ancient world. Come with me while we learn from the foremost example of God’s grace to the chief of sinners.

Camellia Allison – A study of Jonah – We will look at God’s prophet and learn how God extends His mercy, compassion, and grace, not only to those who belong to Him, but even the wicked. We will also learn lessons from Jonah that we apply to our own lives.

Chase Byers – Grace, Faith, and Endurance in Hebrews – In this class we will survey different sections of Hebrews that teach us how grace, faith, and endurance work in salvation. How confident are you in your salvation? This class will help you gain boldness to draw near to the sanctuary of God. (Hebrews 10:19-23)

Christy Arden – Hosea – The book of Hosea is a beautiful picture of God’s everlasting, inexhaustible, immense, steadfast love for His people. In this study, we will explore how God used Hosea’s broken marriage to show us His unfailing love despite man’s faithlessness. We will see His desire for a close relationship and His heartbreak over our sin, but we also see the extraordinary measures God has gone to in order to save us.

Cindy Chapman – James  – What does real faith look like? The book of James is one of the most direct, challenging and practical books in the New Testament. It is often easy to understand but hard to apply. If someone watched your life closely, would they see your faith without you saying a word?

Gary Fisher – Deuteronomy 4-11 – Israel was chosen by God not because of their worthiness, but because of God’s greatness and grace. We will see God’s grace in action.

Julie Curry – Seeking Help From God Through the Psalms – In this class, we’ll explore the book of Psalms to gain the practical tools and deep encouragement we need to depend on the Lord in times of trial.

Kelly Maners – Praying through the Scripture – Have you ever noticed how some people in the Bible and even today’s world talk to God so easily? Do you feel like you want to pray more but aren’t quite sure how or what to say? This will be an interactive class where we practice two way communication with God. We will not only look at examples in the scripture, but will read passages (God talking to us), meditate on them and learn to pray (us talking to God) about what is in those passages, making it relevant to our life right now.

Simon Harris – Galatians – What makes one a Christian? What is grace and how is it related to faith and obedience? What’s the difference between faith and law-keeping? Can I trust the gospel? Is Jesus enough? These are great questions, important questions, questions with answers! Galatians was written to people struggling with understanding what it really means to be a child of God by a man who had clearly thought through these questions himself ANDwas empowered by the Holy Spirit as an apostle of Jesus Christ. Our study of Galatians will help us stand fast in the freedom that Christ brings.

Teresa Harris – Isaiah in John – Isaiah has been called “The First Gospel” – we will see the promises of salvation through grace in Isaiah and then see those promises fulfilled by Jesus in the gospel of John, strengthening our faith in Jesus as the Christ, our Savior, the only name in which salvation is found.

Classes that aren’t centered on a Bible text:

Nichole Dwyer – Dispensers of Grace: Writing Bible Lessons with Confidence – God uses young women in powerful ways! This hands-on workshop will focus on turning scripture into clear, engaging Bible lessons for other women.

Emily Phillips – Sight singing (Solfa) – Singing with a joyful heart is such a blessing, but it’s hard to do if you don’t know the song you’re trying to sing! Have you ever wondered why different notes are different shapes in our hymnals, or wished you could read their “secret language”? In this class we will learn to sight sing hymns using “do, re, mi” and shape notes (ability to read music not required!) so that we can learn new hymns quickly and jump-start our ability to sing harmony.

Rachel Malherbe – History of Hymns – In our History of Hymns class, we will look at a variety of hymns written over the ages and learn about those who wrote them. Did something happen in their personal life that led them to write about it? Did they have a talent of putting pen to paper and writing beautiful words about our Savior? After looking into the history of the writer, we will dig into the hymn. Sometimes as we sing, we don’t always get the full meaning of what is being said. Finally, we will sing that song together, having a better grasp of what it is we are singing about. There will also be brief teaching on leading songs and opportunities for some to try their hand at leading us. This is optional.

Service Projects – Making items that can then be passed on to bless others.

Outdoor Rec – Outdoor activities and games

Singing –  Spend a class period singing hymns together.

Crafts

Kitchen Help – Spend a class period after a meal to help wash dishes and clean the mess hall.

Bunk Time – Spend a class period in quiet in your bunk.

EVENING CLASS CHOICES

These classes will meet only one time. You will have one class Sunday evening, two classes Monday evening, and two Tuesday evening. Please choose seven options, ranking your first choice as #1, and we will try to give you your top five if possible.

Bekah Koen – Gracious Speech

BJ Dutton – Regifting of God’s Grace through service to others-Practical ways you can serve the body

Claire Sink – Holy Behavior – Living in Grace

Emily Phillips – Grace and Politics – In a culture of political divisiveness and hatred, how can I stand firm for my faith while interacting in peace and kindness with others in the world? How do I balance being a citizen of Heaven while living in America where political discussion and passion is prevalent?

Erin Maqueda – God’s Hesed (Lovingkindness)

Kaitlin Dick – My Grace is Sufficient for you – When we face trials and we feel like our prayers aren’t being heard, how do we cope? We will discuss how God’s providence and grace will carry us through.

Lindsey Dobbs – Grace Conquers Guilt – Growing in Confidence! Dive into grappling with the weight of the feelings of guilt – warranted or not! – as we look at how to go from being paralyzed to empowered.

Nichole Dwyer – The Surpassing Riches of His Grace in the Ages to Come – What does it mean that God will display “the surpassing riches of His grace in the ages to come” (Ephesians 2:7)? In this class, we will examine the hopeful promise of Christ’s second coming, the transformation of our mortal bodies into new spiritual bodies, and the glory of eternal life with God. Together we will consider how the riches of God’s grace extend beyond this life and into the ages to come.

Olivia McCauley – Dispensing Grace in Forgiveness – As a recipient of grace, I must be willing to show grace to others in forgiveness. In this class we’ll discuss what forgiveness looks like, distinguish the difference between forgetting and forgiving, and learn how to forgive when hurt is all-consuming. This class will cover other questions like “How do I forgive myself?” and “What has Jesus’ forgiveness taught me about how I should forgive?”

Sharon Ayers – Where Could I Go But to The Lord? I Need Thee Every Hour – Practical ways to develop greater humility and deeper gratitude for grace.

Teresa Harris – Dispensing Grace Overseas – What are some ways as a teen young woman you can prepare yourself to serve in the Kingdom overseas? We will talk about some perspectives, habits, and attitudes that will help you serve in the Kingdom, both at “home” and on foreign soils.
